Eloise Ottewell, Human Resources Business Partner at GEFCO UK, was inspired to do a tandem parachute jump after supporting GEFCO UK’s Coventry to Paris cycle challenge, that took place last month and has so far raised almost GBP40,000 for BBC Children in Need.
“As a mother of two young children, I was so moved by the BBC Children in Need videos screened at the GEFCO UK launch event that I immediately signed up for my first ever skydive to raise money for the amazing charity” explained Ottewell. “It was so out of character for me to jump out of a plane at 13,000 feet, but the experience was incredible and I am proud to have successfully completed the challenge. I would like to thank everyone at GEFCO UK for their fantastic support and helping to make a difference to disadvantaged and young people’s lives through generous donations.”
The skydive is part of an ongoing charity drive at GEFCO UK to raise money for BBC Children in Need, whilst encouraging team building and engagement. The initiative is being led by Helen Grover, Director of Human Resources, GEFCO UK, who has been instrumental in fostering employee wellbeing and corporate social responsibility at the UK subsidiary of the global supply chain and automotive logistics company.
“GEFCO UK is committed to empowering our staff, ensuring we give back to local communities, and conducting business in an ethical manner” said Grover. “I am incredibly proud of our team in Coventry and across the UK, and I look forward to continuing with our fundraising efforts.”
