GEF-FEST took place over the weekend at Freestyle 360 in the stunning Cotswolds for the second year. Colleagues from across the UK came together for the family weekend that is free to colleagues and their families. Some travelled from as far as our sites in Sheerness and Halewood to join the fun and to help us raise money for our charity, Children in Need.
On the Saturday teams came together to take part in the GEF-FEST Mud Run. Family games, a fish and chip van, prosecco bar and live music kept everyone entertained into the evening. On the Sunday colleagues taking part in the Coventry to Paris Cycle Challenge completed a practise session on a 60k or 100k route across the Cotswolds. The cycle challenge team are training hard to ensure they can complete the challenge so please show your support by donating to Children in Need through our Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gefco-uk.
Helen Grover, HR Director said “It was a wonderful event this year. We had great weather which only added to the brilliant family atmosphere that the organisers created. It was wonderful to see people that had travelled so far to join us and I only hope that many more colleagues will join us at GEF-FEST 2019 to make the event even more special”.
On Saturday colleagues from our Baginton site supported the annual Carnival in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. They supplied nine trailers for the event and we also entered a float into the procession where Pudsey Bear was guest of honour. We are delighted to announce that the GEFCO float came 2nd place in the non-Kenilworth category. This is the 5th year that we have supported this event to raise funds for good causes in the local community.
