GEFCO cycle challenge - join or support us for Children in Need

30 July 2018

Fifty two GEFCO employees alongside our suppliers and customers are taking on the challenge to cycle from Coventry to Paris over a four-day period.

Our team, which also includes over 30 support volunteers will travel in excess of 300 miles to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

Participants can either take part individually or as part of a relay, each completing a leg of the journey per day. Training has begun and we have a project team on board to help participants be fully prepared for the event in September.

Static bikes have been placed at our sites within the UK to help those enrolled to practise their cycling. Not only this, we also have a nutritionist on board to help ensure the team will have the right resources to complete the ride.

“We wanted to give our staff a unique team building experience, one to remember and to be charitable at the same time with the money raised going to Children in Need. This event is a “bucket list” event, those who cannot participate by cycling are involved in the project, fundraising, organising and supporting, it is a whole company experience with people from directors to the operators in our business. In line with our Infinite Proximity initiative at GEFCO this gives us an opportunity to explore and design lasting cooperation’s with our employees, customers, suppliers, partners and our communities,” explains HR Director, Helen Grover.

We still have places for our suppliers and customers to be involved and so, if you would like to be a part of this thrilling experience please register your interest here
