Covid 19 protecting our teams

At GEFCO, we’ve been implementing new processes and procedures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure our staff are safe at work whilst maintaining the smooth running of our operations. 
You’ll find below a summary of key changes that have been implemented across our core business areas. 

 

Entrance to all sites 

If any employee or visitor has any symptoms of Covid 19 they will be asked to self isolate and will not be allowed access to the site. We will take your temperature before entrance is permitted and we ask everyone to respect the social distance of ruling of 2m . 

Moving around

Guidance markings and barriers have been put in place to ensure that a safe distance is maintained. Where possible one way routes have been implemented.

PPE

Wearing PPE is compulsory and we provide everyone with a fresh mask each day. Used masks are to be thrown away along with gloves into separate bins provided. Home made masks aren’t permitted.

Cleaning

We are carrying out regular disinfection of workstations, toilets and other areas of the site.
We ask that you wash your hands regularly, and cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue.

Driver Safety

All drivers are asked to remain in their vehicles where practical to do so and use the dedicated handover locations.
They are also asked to clean key contact points inside their cab at the start of any shift 

Warehouse and SILS

All staff are required to clean key touch points on handling equipment every 2 hours, whenever a user changes, and at the end of a shift.

FVL

During any vehicle handover to a colleague or customer, gloves must always be worn and a face mask, with social distancing In the workshop, safety glasses and masks must always be worn, and shared tools sanitised between users.
