Why are we taking temperatures?
To clearly establish if anyone has a high temperature and at risk with potentially having Coronavirus
When will temperatures be taken:
To be undertaken for all employees, business partners, visitors etc when attending our sites at the beginning of each shift.
Where will temperatures be taken?
UK coverage – Across all GEFCO sites / operations including customer premises.
What process will take place:
- At a 2m distance from you, you will be asked if you have any symptoms i.e. high temperature, constant coughing etc
- You will be asked if you are well and able to work.
- You’ll be asked to wear a mask before stepping forward.
- Your forehead must not covered by hair, clothing or sweat
- The sensor-end of the device will be held between 1.2” and 2” (3 - 5cm) from the forehead and pointed squarely at it.
- After a second or two, the device will beep quietly, to indicate a reading completed.
- The body temperature is displayed on the screen.
What if I have a high temperature?
Following any temperature which is above 37.6°C:
- Temperature will be re-checked to ensure there is no technical issue.
- You will be escorted away from others to either an isolation room until the area is clear and you can make arrangements to be collected, are ok to drive home, or you require medical assistance.
- You must wear PPE, and stay isolated in the room as a precautionary measure.
- Details will be taken about when you first started feeling unwell etc.
